Pickleball is a fun game that is easier to play and learn than tennis. The game is slow paced, and you don't have to cover a lot of ground. Here are some of the best places to enjoy a game of pickleball near our Cambridge apartments.
Kendall Square Rooftop Garden has an outdoor court where you can enjoy a game of pickleball. The court is free and has permanent lines and net. Reservations are not permitted and access to the court is on a first come, first serve basis.
Somerville YMCA has an indoor wood court with portable nets and permanent lines. If you want to play pickleball at the court, you first need to register as a member. Players have access to amenities like restrooms, private lockers, steam rooms, and weight rooms. The facility is open Monday to Friday between 6am to 9:30 pm, Saturday 7am to 7pm, and on Sunday between 9am to 4pm.
Cambridge Public Library has three hard courts where you can play pickleball. The downside is that you have to come with your own net and lines, but the advantage is that access to the facility is free. The facility has lights and this means that you can play even at night.
Peters Park features a tennis asphalt court with overlaid lines. Because it is a tennis court, the line is slightly taller compared to that of a pickleball net. The court is free, and you don't have to make a reservation to access it. Some of the amenities available at the park include lighted courts, restrooms, and water.
