Cambridge has a vibrant restaurant scene, but sometimes you need a home-cooked meal. Luckily, the city has cooking classes for both beginners and seasoned chefs. The following are three places to take cooking classes only a short drive from our Cambridge apartments.
The Cambridge School of Culinary Arts offers a variety of classes for both newbies and experienced chefs. You'll learn the basics of cooking in the Techniques class, like knife skills and making soups. Those with a sweet tooth can take the Advanced Pastry class to make desserts like macarons or French puff pastries. There are also seasonal classes for everything from Thanksgiving turkey to Oktoberfest beer and schnitzel. Bring your friend, significant other, or family member to the Cooking Couples class.
Dumpling School teaches you how to make meat, vegetarian, and vegan dumplings. The instructor and head chef is Patty Chen, who grew up in Taiwan, making dumplings since her childhood. There are group dumpling classes for friends and family and even a separate one for Date Night. The school also hosts birthday and bachelor/bachelorette parties and team builders. You'll learn everything from how to roll and fold dumplings to making different shapes.
Formaggio Kitchen is a specialty food store known for its wine and cheese collection. The Formaggio team sources each piece of cheese from select artisanal cheesemakers in the U.S. and Europe. The store's classes center around wine, beer, and different pairings. One of its Classic Series classes explores a variety of Spanish wines, cheeses, and charcuterie.
After your culinary lesson, visit the New England Aquarium. It's one of the region's most popular attractions. If you want to relocate, consider Tempo Cambridge for your next home. Please contact us, and our leasing team would be delighted to give you a tour of our apartments in Cambridge.
